ENGINEERING REVIEW
Is your AI-built product safe to sell?
You shipped fast. Now a customer, a raise or a security questionnaire is asking harder questions. Get a senior engineer’s clear-eyed review of what you built, what matters most, and what it will take to fix it.
It works. But would you stake a customer on it?
AI tools make it easier than ever to ship a convincing product. They don’t tell you if the foundations will hold when real users, real data and real scrutiny arrive.
Look under the hood.
Know where you stand.
A focused engineering review across the parts of your product that affect whether it is safe, dependable and ready to grow.
Security
Secrets, authentication, permissions, exposed endpoints and dependency risk.
Data
What you collect, where it lives, how it is protected and whether the model will scale.
Reliability
What happens when something fails, and whether you will know when it breaks.
Scalability
What gives way first as usage grows, and what it would take to add capacity.
Maintainability
How understandable the code is, where knowledge is concentrated and what blocks change.
Delivery
How changes reach production, and what catches a risky release before customers do.
Cost at scale
Where your current architecture gets expensive as usage grows tenfold.
Expert judgement.
Useful answers.
Tools can flag patterns. A CTO helps you understand which ones matter to your product and business.
Get the context
We review your repository and infrastructure, then talk through what the business needs the product to do.
Review the product
Three focused review days across the seven engineering areas. We follow the evidence and understand the decisions behind it.
Prioritise the findings
Risks are explained in plain English and ranked by impact, with recommended actions and effort estimates.
Walk through what comes next
A 60-minute readout with you and your engineers, so everyone understands the decisions ahead.
Use it with your team, your next hire or your board. The findings are yours.
For founders who need the truth, clearly.
The audit is designed for a product that exists already and has real stakes attached to it.
A strong fit if…
- Your product is live or close to launch
- AI assistance played a meaningful part in building it
- A round, customer, incident or growth has raised the stakes
- You want a practical plan, not just reassurance
Probably not if…
- You have not built a product yet
- You already know what is wrong and only need implementation
- You need a formal ISO, SOC 2 or penetration-test certification
- You want a rubber stamp without changing anything
Know the plan before you commit.
This is a defined five-day engagement with a prioritised report and a review session. We’ll confirm fit and scope on a free 30-minute call, then agree the fixed fee before any work starts.
Good questions to ask.
Do you need access to our code?
Yes. The review is grounded in your repository and, where relevant, your deployment and infrastructure setup. We agree access and boundaries with you before we begin.
What if you find nothing serious?
That is a useful result. You still receive the review, the reasoning and the areas to keep an eye on as the product grows.
Can you fix what you find?
The audit stands on its own. If you want help with the follow-up work, we can scope that separately from the findings, so you can choose what happens next.
Is this a penetration test or compliance certification?
No. This is an engineering review of your product’s readiness and risks. It does not replace a formal penetration test, ISO assessment or SOC 2 audit.
Will the report make sense if I’m not technical?
Yes. Findings are explained in plain language, prioritised by business impact and walked through with you. Your engineers can join the readout too.
Get clear on what you’ve built.
Start with a free 30-minute conversation. No pressure, and we’ll say if the audit isn’t right for you.
