How we use your data

What this site stores, what it loads from other companies, and the choice you have about analytics.

The short version

This is a static marketing site. There are no accounts, no advertising, and no profiling. We do not sell or share your data with anyone for their own purposes.

One optional cookie is set, for Google Analytics, and only if you agree to it. Everything else on this page describes things you cannot opt out of without leaving the site, so we would rather you knew about them.

Your cookie choice

What sets cookies

  • Google Analytics sets _ga and _ga_<id>, which last up to two years and tell us how the site is used. These are set only after you press Accept. Until then the Google script is not loaded at all, so nothing is requested from Google and nothing is stored.
  • Calendly sets its own cookies, but only on the Let's Talk page, where the booking calendar is embedded. Calendly shows its own consent notice inside that calendar, separate from ours, because the choice belongs to them.

What we store without cookies

Your answer to the cookie question is kept in your browser's local storage under jb.cookie-consent. It records only whether you agreed and when. It is not a cookie, it is never sent to us or to anyone else, and clearing your browser data removes it, after which you will be asked again.

Things loaded from other companies

Like most sites, some parts are served by other companies. Loading anything from another company tells them your IP address and roughly what you are looking at, whether or not a cookie is involved.

  • Google Fonts serves the typefaces on every page.
  • Calendly serves the booking calendar on the Let's Talk page.
  • Google Analytics, only once you have agreed.

If you book a call

The form on the Let's Talk page asks for your name, email address, and optionally a phone number, company, what you are interested in, where you are in your thinking, and anything else you want to tell us.

That information is passed to Calendly, who run the booking, and it reaches us as a calendar invitation and an email. The booking form itself stores nothing on this site, which has no server and no database of its own. (The scorecard, below, does send what you enter to us.)

If you choose to share analytics with us, we also record which option you picked from the interest and stage menus, so we can see which of our services people are asking about. Your name, email address, phone number and notes are never sent to Google Analytics.

If you complete the Production Readiness Scorecard

The online scorecard asks for your name, company and email address before you start, and then records your answers as you work through it.

We record your details and your answers as each section is completed, not only at the end. That is so a partly finished scorecard is not lost if you stop or close the tab, and it means we hold a record even if you never reach the last page.

When you finish, we generate a PDF of your completed scorecard, email it to the address you gave, and keep a copy. Your details, your section scores and your answers are stored in a spreadsheet we control, by way of Make.com, which moves the data between this site and that spreadsheet, and Google Sheets, which holds it. The PDF is stored in Amazon S3. We do not sell or share any of it.

The form also carries a marketing opt-in, which is ticked when the page loads. Leave it ticked and we may email you occasional articles and offers; untick it before you start and we will only ever email you your own scorecard. Either way we record which you chose. You can change your mind at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any such email, or by emailing hello@juicy-brains.com.

Your answers are also kept in your own browser so you can pick the scorecard back up where you left off. Clearing your browser data removes that copy but not ours. To have our copy deleted, email hello@juicy-brains.com and we will remove it.

If you have shared analytics with us, we separately record which sections you completed, your score and your band, so we can see where people stop. Your name, company and email address are never sent to Google Analytics.

Email

If you email hello@juicy-brains.com, we keep that correspondence so we can reply and pick the conversation back up later.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@juicy-brains.com and we will deal with it.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes

If we start setting something we do not set today, we will update this page and ask for your cookie choice again rather than assuming the old answer still applies.
